Anxiety here we come...

So all those tests I had a while ago that I thought were normal are not so much. I called a while ago and was told that they were fine. I got a call today from the office to say that I need to come in to discuss the results. I told her that I had called and been told that if there was a problem I would have been notified. She said well....they have just come back and you need to come in. I'm going out of my tree. My appointment is for the 8th of march. That's two weeks away. I even made Hud call to see if he could find out anymore but she couldn't tell him anything.

I can't wait to find out who I talked to previously. Here I was thinking all was well and really it is not. I need to get a grip but suspense and I are not the best of friends!

Seriously.... don't worry too much! If it was really serious you would have been in like the day after your tests were taken. My best friend passed away from breast cancer a few years ago and we couldn't believe.... they tell you that the results take a few weeks to get back... she got calls like the next day... and appointments with specialists that tell the average person there is a two week waiting list. It's amazing how quickly they move you along when things are really wrong. Moral of the story: It is a good thing if you have to wait... the waiting is terrible but a good sign. I will send healthy, happy thoughts your way!

Alison: I take a different tack than family of five. I believe you cannot take for granted that they will look after your welfare as well as you would. press even harder. Go there yourself. Cheryl's docs tried to make her schedule an appointment to come in and get the bad news. She refused. They relented. Never, ever, ever, take anything for granted when it comes to your health,

P.S. Thanks for the wonderfully kind words you left the other day.

That is just mean. I would call them and tell them you will be losing sleep over this and could they please tell you something? Thats cruel.

If they are having you wait two weeks to come in, I can't imagine it is of an urgent nature.
I hope that whatever it is, it is a minor problem.
Take care. I know it will be difficult just waiting and wondering. These two weeks will seem like FOREVER!
Maybe you can call and ask to speak to the doctor directly.

i think if it was something serious they would have gotten you in right away. if you are really concerned, call them and tell them you either need to get in right away or need to find out over the phone.

Allison not sure what kind of test you had performed but usually if it is anything really serious they do not schedule appointments two weeks out. Also I work in a doctors office and to be honest with you they can not refuse you any test result. I would call and ask them to prepare your last visits test results for a visit with your PCP or Ob/Gyn depending on who you had the tests with.

I will however be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

So, I guess you've not been able to get any news about those test results.
I hope you haven't chewed your fingernails down to the quick over this.

Please don't worry too much Alison. But I know how you are feeling, even though I don't know what tests you had done. I will pray for you for peace on this, and don't be afraid to be an advocate for your own health!!! Call them up and hound them if need be! My Dr. did a routine pap a couple of years ago and they found a spot that they said looked suspicious, so I had to go and have my cervix cauterized a few times. Now all is ducky, unless I get a call from my recent pap! I usually am in to the Dr. for my hypertension every few months so I always make a point of it to ask about any bloodwork/tests (including pap) that was done. Because they can easily miss this stuff and not tell you. I find unless you ask, persistently, then Dr's tend to not divulge results, and that is just not right!

Hang in there, lots of love and prayers coming your way.

Shelley
